The Quaboag Historical Society was established in 1895 by a group of residents of the original Quaboag Plantation area, including Brookfield, North Brookfield, West Brookfield, East Brookfield, Warren, and New Braintree, who saw the need for preservation of its history and artifacts.  The Society works to encourage and expand interest in the history of the area, to present programs, to conserve artifacts of the period, and to act as a reference resource for those interested in local history.

The Society operates a museum in West Brookfield. Reference materials are available, artifacts are on display, and attendance and participation are welcomed.  The museum is open monthly (first Saturday) and always by appointment.

Directions to the museum:

Follow Route 9 to the traffic light in the center of West Brookfield.  Take Central Street (on the right if heading east/left if heading West) to the end (it intersects with Front Street) the museum will be in front of you in the former train depot.

Meetings are monthly and open to the public.
