The Highway Department is responsible for maintaining town roads, sidewalks and the fleet of equipment to maintain the roads. This maintenance includes snow removal, drainage, repairing potholes, line painting, signage, mowing road sides, repairs to the road surface, rebuilding of roads and other duties as assigned by the Board of Selectmen. It also mows and trims the Common, Lewis Field, Mill Station Park, the Washington Monument, Police Station, the overlook at the Murray Bridge and South Pond. The Highway Superintendent also serves as the Tree Warden. The Highway Department is open M-F 7 AM- 3 PM.
